Summer hair care guide
Summer is here!! Here are some of my favorite tips to keep your hair feeling fresh and protected from the sun and swimming!
Tip 1: Wearing a hat outside helps protect your hair by creating a barrier between your strands and harmful UV rays from the sun, reducing the risk of sun damage and color fading.
Tip 2: Coating your hair with conditioner before swimming can help create a shield for your hair. The conditioner acts as a barrier, preventing the hair from absorbing as much chlorine or salt water. This protective layer also helps maintain moisture in the hair, reducing damage and dryness from the harsh chemicals or elements in the pool or ocean. Simply apply a generous amount of conditioner to your hair before swimming and reapply it if you're swimming for an extended period.
Tip 3: Regular hair trims are essential for protecting your hair from summer damage. Trimming every 6-8 weeks helps prevent split ends and breakage, keeping your hair healthy and strong under the sun's harsh rays. Don’t want to trim your hair, that’s okay opt for a split end treatment instead!

Things to know if you have curly hair!
If you have curly hair you may notice several challenges that curly hair entails. Typically curly hair tends to be more dry compared to someone with straight hair and here is why. The hair follicle is shaped differently causing your hair to be stripped of your natural oils your scalp produces actually making it more difficult for those natural oils to reach the ends of your hair. Make sure you are using deep conditioner and hair mask regularly. Use moisturizing shampoo and conditioner that is sulfate free, use a clarifying shampoo occasionally.
Using a clarifying shampoo can help bring your curls back to life! Typically if you have curly hair you are using lots of different products in it which is great however, it tends to get built up in your scalp/ hair follicle. Results of this build up is weighed down hair, flat or your curls may just not want to curl. Make sure when you do use a clarifying shampoo that you are doing two washes with it! The two washes are vital to make sure you really are getting everything off and nice and clean!
Key takeaways: use a deep conditioner, hair oil at night ( just on your ends) , clarifying shampoo occasionally to revamp your curls from being flat and not curling, make sure you are using a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner for your normal hair wash days! And last but not least DOUBLE CLENSE YOUR HAIR!

WInter hair care guide: keeping your locks luscios in the cold
As the winter chill sets in our hair becomes well… to simply put it dry. But don’t worry I am here to give you some tips to keep your hair healthy, shiny and manageable throughout this season.
HYDRATE
-increase your water intake, this will help your scalp health and reduce the chances of if being dry/ flakey
2.DEEP CONDITON
-using a deep conditioner once a week to help add the lost moisture back into your hair
3. WEARING A HAT
wearing a hat/ head wrap will help protect your hair from the outside elements.
4. USE LUKEWARM WATER
using lukewarm water to wash your hair is so important. As hot water can contribute to added dryness into your hair.
5. SLEEP WITH A SATIN/SILK PILLOWCASE
this has many benefits, and I recommend actually doing this year round. This will cause less friction between your hair and avoid breakage.
6. MAINTAIN YOUR DRY ENDS WITH REGULAR TRIMS
trimming your dead ends in winter especially will make it so your split ends are not able to keep climbing up your hair shaft.
By adding these few tips into your hair routine, you can keep your hair looking fresh and hydrated. And avoid any dry /flakey scalp. Yes it does take a little more time and care in the winter to have good hair but trust me you will thank me later!C
